The Midi Skirt Shoot: Work to Weekend

I'm not lying when I tell you that Danielle Small has seriously outdone herself with these photographs!!! I died. Amazing. Another name for this shoot could've been Rooptop Part Two as Danielle has capture some more amazing views and shots from my apartment rooftop. We also discovered an odd assortment of furniture up there, including a small table I snagged to put our vintage Nintendo on under the TV :)

Anyways, THE MIDI SKIRT. How the hell do I wear it when my legs are nugget sized? My first response is (I know you're shocked) HEELS. But when I put on my Converse to go scout out the roof, I realized the midi could work with sneaks too. So here goes- The Midi Skirt: Work to Weekend. My midi is from Zara with the iconic plaid that has been trending this season. With a statement skirt like this and my recent movement towards all things "chic", I paired the printed skirt with a classic black tee and some killer heels…. for a more corporate environment: a pointy black pump. Clean, simple, and work appropriate. Which then leads to weekend, throw on the same base skirt and tee, add a chambray button down over top and switch the heels for some sneaks (preferably Converse or Supergas) and viola you're ready for gallery gazing and shopping the Brooklyn Flea.

Shootin' Up On The Rooftop

Here's the latest shoot up on the rooftop (click, click, click) of my apartment complex. I love the contrast in these photos between the clean, minimalism of the outfit and the graphic, detailed background. Many of the women I work with are the epitome of chic, which has inspired me to follow in suit. While I love to explore different areas of my style, statement pieces, and ever evolving fashion trends, every woman needs some basic essentials in her closet that are classic and chic. For example, I snagged these gorgeous trousers and perfect long sleeve tee from Zara just a day before the shoot. Simple, classic, chic. Paired with statement heels and a simple necklace, you're good to go.

Rooftop Sneak Peek

After a hiatus from personal photoshoots, I finally reconnected with my choice nyc photographer, the lovely Danielle Small, for a shoot on Sunday morning. I now wish we had gotten some behind the scenes footage because my "girl scout" capabilities kicked in, and I found myself wedging a kitchen knife between the cracks to open the tarred-shut door accessing the rooftop of my building... The day was absolutely gorgeous despite the chilly winds and the views, inspiring.  Just a little sneak peek of what's to come… STAY TUNED.

I'm Backkkk

Ciao bellas,
After a minor hiatus, I'm back and ready to give you the latest fashion deets on Ezisa Kairos. Settling into the new apartment, switching to freelancing, and now on a new, full-time job-- life has been quite the whirlwind! While my style and outfit choices vary based on what I'm doing, I've been noticing a pull towards all things "chic". I've already learned so much more about styling as a career, and styling myself for that matter, just from freelancing these past few months. In the beginning, it can be a guessing game, an experiment. With time, you start to learn what works and what doesn't. Don't be ashamed of shamelessly pinning (lord knows i do). But if you follow the right people on Pinterest, follow new blogs, search new sites, you gain inspiration for the clothes you pick out in the store and what you choose to put on each morning.

I've included a few images below of outfits/happening since we last spoke. Keep an eye out for a sneak peek at the latest photoshoot on my rooftop!

The Well Dressed Man

There are few things better than a well dressed man.  As of late, I've been assisting on some men's photoshoots, which have been great learning experiences in my growth towards becoming a stylist. One of the trickiest things with men's fashion is creating an outfit that looks stylist but not too "flamboyant" or "metro", if you will. David Beckham seems to pop up a lot, but let's not get too distracted... I've also discovered that my sometimes excessive amount of pinning on Pinterest is really coming in handy when searching for inspirational style images. Here are a few men's street style shots that I've really been digging lately that emit that cool and stylish man.

My Makeup Favs

I've compiled a list of some of my makeup essentials. First things first, face cream. Invest. A great face cream can really make or break how your makeup looks, how it stays, etc. So I like to get "testers" at the department store or mini travel versions to test what I like best. Or you can find some great creams for a low price at places like TJMaxx or Marshalls. I found the H20 brand below at Marshalls and love it because it hydrates without getting your face all shiny. It soaks in. (The Aveeno comes in a close second). The rest of the products are my favorites in each category, some at various price points. Enjoy :)
