Whether you are in the fashion loop or not, some things come down the runway during fashion week and you think "What the heck is that?" While Wang has a very quirky aesthetic, this collection is freaking genius. The innovation is out of this world, while also being wearable. Alexander Wang has brought lasercut leather to a whole new level. He has moved from minor lasercut detail to entirely slashed dresses. While the majority of the garment is cut and sliced, he has designed it in a way that makes it, again, completely wearable.
This collection also merges minimalism and sex appeal. The minimalism is apparent in the neutral palette and clean lines in design; however, the multitude of lasercut detail brings the sex appeal (especially in the last four looks below). I am a firm believer that you can be sexy while still being classy. Wang holds true to this statement in his Spring 2013 collection.
