ABC Carpet and Home

If you haven't heard of it, ABC Carpet and Home is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful stores in Manhattan. All seven floors are filled with the most unique and beautiful home furnishings. In my dream life, my house will be filled with items from ABC Carpet and Home....once my wallet can afford it. Until then, Homegoods and IKEA.

NY Fashion, Food, and Fun

Apologies for the lack of posts! Wrapping up the semester and looking into moving to NY at the end of May has been very time consuming! Speaking of NY, here are some highlights from my trip in March.

What are the chances that my friend Jonathon, who goes to school at Parsons for Fashion Design (jealous?), also had a friend coming to visit from Knoxville. He not only had been on all my connecting flights but I had helped him at J.Crew before! What a coincidence right? Needless to say I think we were separated at birth. We rode into the city Gossip Girl style in our bumpin' town car.

One of my favorite stops: The Chelsea Market

Met up with this lovely lady, Emilie, who goes to school at FIT and interned with me at Lucky Magazine! Naturally, I found it essential to visit the Shoe Obsession exhibit at her school.

So mad I didn't get this for my future neice. Jean Paul Gautier onesie anyone?
Some of my favorite boots and an epic floor at Urban.

Outfit: "Chanel" jacket (found it it my mom's closet #winning), Truve Silk Blouse, J.Crew Pixi Pant, Vince Camuto Studded Boots

Another favorite stop: All Saints. Apparently Beyonce owns this dress. Dying.

I was actually in Manhattan for a school trip (ha). I shadowed the swimsuit buyer from Belk on her market visits and got the opportunity to meet the Jessica Simpson Swimwear designer. He was amazing.

Food: Went to this great place in Brooklyn called Five Leaves- my kinda place.
Amber's Ricotta Pancakes.

My delish salad.

Corey's Pork Belly Slider

Another Brooklyn find! Can't remember the restaurant name but this was the first time I have had mole...delish! Enchiladas!

So happy to discover my favorite drink from traveling a few years ago in London: Magners Cider.

Outfits: Bought this skull tee at Urban Outfitters for $15...obsessed. Leather Lapel Blazer / J.Crew Pixi Pant / Sam Edelman Booties

Visit a friend at Marie Claire: Rachel Roy dress (in my header of my blog!)

More to come.... and hopefully sooner rather than later!

Still Alive

Despite my two month hiatus, I'm still alive. Life (and school) catches up to you. I'm excited to finally share some posts from my trips to New York City and Orlando! But for now...Clothes. I love to reinvent them. Making a maxi skirt a midi-dress or layering a tunic and skirt for the illusion of a dress, the possibilities are endless. Let's take the colorful tunic below. It's actually a swimsuit coverup. Add a nude tank, black maxi, bronze pumps, a gold waist belt and bangle, and you're good to go. Please don't try this with every coverup. I'm getting really scary visuals of netted looking things. Stick to the linens, cottons, and chiffons! Next up will be my NYC highlights so be on the lookout!
